Steven H. Funderburg graduated from the University of Mississippi in 1992 and the University of Mississippi Law School in 1994. He previously handled insurance defense claims and workers’ compensation claims representing employers, insurance companies and self insureds. Beginning in 2000, Steve has focused his practice on the representation of plaintiffs and claimants and has represented hundreds of injured Mississippians in litigation. His practice remains dedicated to bad faith claims, workers’ compensation claims, wrongful death claims, breach of contract, motor vehicle accidents, commercial litigation and general tort. Steve presents several seminars every year teaching primarily in the areas of workers compensation, bad faith and general trial practice and strategy. He has presented dozens of papers and articles in these areas of law and is licensed to practice in all state and federal courts. Steve was elected as a Fellow in the College of Workers’ Compensation Attorneys in 2015 and is a director for the Mississippi Workers’ Compensation Education Association where he served as president for 2013-2014 and 2014-2015. He was elected to Best Lawyers in America in 2006 (and each year thereafter) by his peers in the field of workers’ compensation (claimants) and has also been elected in the field of bad faith litigation. He received the Client Distinction Award through Martindale-Hubbell for Quality of Service, Value, Responsiveness and Communication Ability and has been elected as Lawyer of the Year through Best Lawyers.'
