Dave Peterson
Bio
Dave Peterson is an equity partner in Funderburg, Sessums, & Peterson, PLLC. He graduated from Millsaps College in 1982, after which he attended Mississippi College School of Law. After graduation in 1985 he served as a law clerk for Justice Michael Sullivan of the Mississippi Supreme Court. Following his clerkship he specialized in the area of workers’ compensation defense representing employers and insurance carriers as well as self insured employers for over 15 years prior to joining Funderburg, Sessums & Peterson. His current practice primarily involves representing injured workers in workers’ compensation claims, personal injury law of all types, bad faith litigation with an emphasis on workers’ compensation bad faith and serving as a mediator in workers’ compensation matters. Dave has achieved the highest possible rating in the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory. He is a fellow of the College of Workers Compensation Lawyers and has been selected to The Best Lawyers in America in the specialty of workers’ compensation law by Best Lawyers. He has served as officer and chairman of the Administrative Law and Workers’ Compensation Section of The Mississippi Bar and has participated as a faculty member in numerous seminar programs primarily involving workers’ compensation issues. Dave currently serves on the Advisory Council to the Mississippi Workers Compensation Commission.
